Apple released today the 2.2.1 upgrade for the IPhone. If you have a jailbroken IPhone or ITouch do not upgrade yet. Your device will become unjailbroken and cannot jailbrake it yet since Quickpwn is not up to date because this firmware wasn’t released in advance for developers.
Improvements:
* Decrease in call set-up failures and dropped calls
* Significantly better battery life for most users
* Dramatically reduced time to backup to iTunes
* Improved email reliability, notably fetching email from POP and Exchange accounts
* Faster installation of 3rd party applications
* Fixed bugs causing hangs and crashes for users with lots of third party applications
* Improved performance in text messaging
* Faster loading and searching of contacts
* Improved accuracy of the 3G signal strength display
* Repeat alert up to two additional times for incoming text messages
* Option to wipe data after ten failed passcode attempts
* Genius playlist creation
* The App Store
* Enterprise support
* MobileMe support
* Mass email move and delete
* Contacts search
* Updated keyboard and dictionary support
* Support for more email attachments
* Scientific calculator
Some of these improvements are long awaited however I cannot do withouth what Jailbraking has to offer. Cheers to Apple corporate mentality. Just imagine Ford telling you that you can’t tint your windows and get bucket seats because the “Ford Look” and SYNC are copyrighted. Thanks “Bill Jobs” and “Steve Gates” for getting us here.
